The Ateneo de Naga University, in coordination with the Social Action Center of St. John the Baptist Parish in Camalig, Albay, have conducted the second and third wave of providing relief efforts last 18 and 25 February 2018 at Cotmon Evacuation Center and Comun Evacuation Center, respectively.
During the 18 February activity, 266 families residing in Barangay Cabagñan have received hygiene kits which were personally given by the 32 volunteers from the faculty, staff, administrators, and maintenance personnel of the university. In addition, psychological first aid and health teaching were conducted by the Psychology Department and College of Nursing respectively at Brgy. Cotmon and Brgy. Taladong.
During the 25 February activity, 458 families living in Barangay Sua have received hygiene kits which were personally given by the 22 volunteers from the faculty, staff, administrators, maintenance personnel, and alumni of the university.
Alert Level 4 in barangays near Mayon Volcano remains as rock fall, lava fountaining, and pyroclastic flow events are still happening according to Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHILVOLCS).
